Indoor Herb Gardens: Home Grown Fresh Herbs

Choose herbs that grow well indoors: herbs like parsley, basil, mint, rosemary, and thyme are good options.

Selecting a container: To avoid overwatering, use ones with drainage holes. If you want to plant several herbs, use larger planters or little pots.

Select a high-quality potting mix that allows for enough drainage and aeration, especially for herbs.

Location: Plant the herb garden on a windowsill or under grow lights, or wherever else it receives at least 4-6 hours of sunshine per day.

Hydration: Maintain a constant, somewhat damp but not soggy soil. In general, herbs are a little drier than other types of vegetation.

Taking Care of Herbs: To promote bushier growth, regularly trim your herbs. Aim to harvest no more than one-third of the plant at a time, but harvest leaves often.

During the growth season, fertilize using a water-soluble fertilizer that is balanced to supply vital nutrients.

To improve the development of herbs, think about using companion planting. Basil and tomatoes, for instance, may grow well together.
