On Sunday, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey played 60 of the 66 offensive snaps before leaving the game early. During Monday's conference call with beat reporters, Coach Kyle Shanahan updated the injury report but left McCaffrey's name off. As far as anyone can tell, McCaffrey's right shoulder is OK.
Lions safety Kerby Joseph brought down All-Pro McCaffrey as he was finishing a 25-yard run to the Detroit 3-yard line, causing McCaffrey to land on his head, neck, and right shoulder
Elijah Mitchell, who saw action in the last six offensive snaps of his lone game action, scored on the following play after McCaffrey removed himself from the game. McCaffrey reported no problems with his shoulder following the game.
